Why Is There Fonts Name Ends With "***-83pv-RKSJ-H", "***-GBpc-EUC-V" and etc.?

A.Reason

a.If the name table of "name6"(PostScript name) or "name20" (PostScript CID name) is not defined, then Adobe software will occurred different with CMap and Font CMap Table, so it will add this kind of suffix. So it will remind users as fonts name ends with "***-83pv-RKSJ-H" and "***-GBpc-EUC-V".

b.Name table of some fonts of "name6" (PostScript name) or "name20"(PostScript CID) has been defined as the name ends with "***-83pv-RKSJ-H" and "***-GBpc-EUC-V".If the user has not installed the font, it will remind it.

Tip:For Adobe software, it shows "Font Family + Style" in the font list but it says PostScript name in the reminder.

B.Suffix

"***" part represent the name of the font, take suffix "***-83pv-RKSJ-H" for example:

The PostScript CID name of A-OTF 新ゴ Pro R (English name: A-OTF Shin Go Pro R) is "ShinGoPro-Regular-83pv-RKSJ-H", in which, the "ShinGoPro-Regular" is from "name4"(Font Full Name).

"83pv" represents "JIS X 0208-1983 (JIS C 6226-1983)" and "proportional [plus] verticals".

"RKSJ" represents "[single-byte] Roman, [half-width] Katakana, and Shift-JIS".

If it shows with these suffix, you just delete the suffix and search.Such as you just search "ShinGoPro-Regular" for "ShinGoPro-Regular-83pv-RKSJ-H".
